Hunter's impressive narrative skill vividly describe a changed world, and he deftly weaves social commentary into the plot. But the best part of the story is the strong characterization. This is a first story, and the heroine's voice is well defined. This is a complex character, rather than jumping to the side. The secondary characters are incredibly well developed and have different personalities. Their interaction prejudices and all too human to depthand reality in a world of fantasy, the supernatural characters - Succubus, seraphim, demons and putting. This is a fantastic page-turner that will leave your appetite for more.
