The Miko by Eric Van Lustbader

Van Lustbader has obviously had a lot of martial arts, studying Asian countries and cultures and has traveled extensively. All these interests appealed to me, so I read to learn what he knows I do not.

Unfortunately, Van Lustbader's novels I've read so far have taken too long, too complicated to maintain an emotional force, and was buried in a verbose style of writing. And so, despite their appeal so far have disappointed me. Was low, it is difficultRemember, one of the other. The Miko is a good example.

The pieces are all interesting, but do not fit into a coherent whole.

The student of art teacher used a major fight a mysterious ability to kill.

Hero helps a lot with tycoon Nicholas Linne seal a Japanese company. Sounds good, but he hates the Tycoon, why is the blame for the death of a famous model, and Linn's daughter, who committed her father hates. And LinnFriends with a police officer who died in Florida during the investigation of the case against the tycoon.

Finally, we found anti-fanatics working for the CIA. Senior managers in Japanese society are murdered in mysterious circumstances. We learn that in the second World War, the father of the President of Japanese society was a pilot, a lifeboat with the bank president of the company shared.

Linne then meets a woman who looks exactly like his first love, Yukio, who believesDead. This woman is clearly to Nicholas and leads, finally, even if engaged and then married to the president of Japanese society.

And do not forget the top-secret project underway on the ocean floor.

Confused? No, I would add to the daughter of a prostitute and then trained in martial arts. The man in the Florida Keys, the shadow of a famous model or detention is being protected by bodyguards.

And just when you start to hate the magnate, hasdies - but the action keeps moving.

And we have not come to Hong Kong again. If the president of the bank was able to manipulate the Chinese against each other, the representatives of the mainland communist government (the novel was written long before 1997).

However, it is fascinating reading, though, as I like the description of life in Japan and Hong Kong. The action is fun, but would know if I really understood what was happening.
